Edition 7 admits influence from the more stoic but wry end of progressive rock of the early 1970s, or the grim but free-wheeled spirit of recombination in certain film noir and gangster soundtrack music of the 1960s around the world. Their origins, in turn, admit the ordinary music around them.

Unusually for this series, we begin with a twist of post-punk anti-pop, at times fronted by a disembodied mask, as if reconstituted from dried. The program continues with ceremonial exposition ahead of the rhythmic drive of an action procedural. As the 2nd half of this edition, the 3rd track observes an elliptical, contemplative churn.
