An exhibition of several separate works of art in an assemblage, in its whole effect, may tickle the imagination more vibrantly than the simple sum-total of its shapes and colors would suggest. In today's edition, each track, as one essential part of its toolkit, employs techniques common to drum-and-bass and crate-digging traditionns. Raw materials are sampled and manipulated, and re-purposed into a novel setting.

Here, the approach diverges slightly from those traditions in two important ways. First, the borrowed material does not derive from the typical range of sources. Second, the sound samples are treated more like a typeface than a quotation. Borrowed sounds are stripped of context, and used primarily for their specific properties, rather than to evoke a style, genre, or time period. Certainly, these are not interpolations. Indeed, some chopped sources are the initial sketches of the same tracks.

You may feel a distinctive blend of delight and disorientation.
